SCOTLAND; DAVID. W.
David Wiley Scotland passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2017 surrounded with love at Kingston General Hospital. David was the second-generation owner and licensed funeral director of Scotland Funeral Home, originally founded by his father Walter Scotland, which has been serving the Elgin and surrounding community for 50 years. Born in Finch, Ontario in 1953, to parents Walter and Irene Scotland, the family eventually settled in Elgin in 1967 when Walter purchased the Campbell funeral home. Dave was a prominent, well-respected, professional who demonstrated unwavering dedication to the care of his families.
Dave adored and loved his two girls, Drea and Ellie (Jarel), and was also grateful for his sister Cathy, her husband Robert, and his two nephews Ryan (Katie, and daughter Abigail) and Scott (Sarah). From lifelong friendship to becoming his loving partner, he cherished Peggy Irvine of Kingston and family Meg (Michael) and children Norman and Maren and Matt (Jenna).
Visitation will be held at Dave's Funeral Home on Saturday, November 4th and Sunday November 5th from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The funeral will take place in Dave's Chapel at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 6th. Services will be directed by Roger Merkley of Dave's Funeral Home, a dedicated employee and close friend of Dave for 22 years. Interment Olivet Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Elgin United Church or Elgin Lions Club Hall would be appreciated by the family.
