Dave Scotland

Dave graduated from Humber College in Toronto in 1975. He apprenticed at the Comstock Funeral Home in Peterborough prior to receiving his funeral directors license and continued there as a Licensed Funeral Director until 1979. He moved to Kingston where he was employed by the Graham A. Stein Funeral Home. In 1983 he joined his father, Walter Scotland at the family firm in Elgin. In 1986 he purchased the funeral home from his parents and was the sole owner and managed the business until his unexpected death on November 1, 2017. Dave was elder at the Elgin United Church and was involved with the Elgin Lions Club, Harmony Lodge(Philipsville) # 370 A.F. & A.M. and was also a member of the Tunis Shriners of Ottawa. Dave was the proud father of two wonderful daughters, Alexandrea (Drea) and Elsbeth (Ellie).

Roger graduated from Humber College in Toronto in 1982 and served his apprenticeship with the Washington and Johnston Funeral Home in Toronto. He continued there as a Licensed Funeral Director  until February, 1989. He then moved to the Vice Funeral Home in Winchester and stayed there until July 1990 then moved to the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth where he worked for 5 years. He joined the Scotland Funeral Home in November of 1995. Roger resides in Westport and is a member of the Westport Lions Club and of St. Edward's Church. Roger is a former councillor for the Village of Westport and is a graduate of the OACFP Crematorium Training Program and is a Certified Crematorium Operator. Roger assumed the Managing Funeral Drector's position at the funeral home after Dave's untimely death on November 1, 2017.
