Although not licensed funeral directors, these members of our staff are vitally important toward the operation of our firm.  These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect.

Ray joined our firm in 2017. We are pleased to have Ray here with us and he will be a welcomed member of the team at Scotland Funeral Home. Ray brings with him over six years of Funeral Service experience. Ray's job as a Funeral Associate will involve many facets of the business, from being involved in the personal assistance during visitations and funeral services, as well as assisting with the maintenance of the buildings, vehicles and the grounds.  

Ray has the special ability to see what needs to be done. He has no problem achieving the end result with much success and in a short period of time. He is also extremely personable and kind and has the inner sense to assist people in any situation..

Ray and his family live in Athens, and he is married to an amazing woman, Jill. They have two beautiful daughters, Michaela and Meghan  

Ray enjoys travelling, cooking, the outdoors and having cottage time, and he is involved in many community activities. Ray is a graduate of the OACFP Crematorium Training Program and is a Certified Crematorium Operator. We are truly honoured and proud to have Ray with us and look forward to many years ahead together.

Jim has been at the Scotland Funeral Home since 2001. HIs main function is to assist as is needed on the day of the funeral. He most often can been seen at the front door of the funeral home greeting and directing people as they enter our facility.

His other important function is driving the pallbearers vehicle for funerals which have been entrusted to the Scotland Funeral Home. As well, he like Charles Baker will assist other local funeral homes by driving our family car.

Jim lives just outside of Elgin. He was married to Sharon until her unfortunate and untimely death in 2007.

We consider Jim a very valuable asset to our firm. His pleasant nature and willingness to assist is extremely evident and appreciated by the many people who come in contact with him . We are very proud to have Jim as part of our team.

Connie Frye, Memorial Donation Administrator

Connie joined our firm on a part time basis in 2007 and has assisted us with visitations and taking great care of our memorial donation requests in perfect detail since that time.  We are extremely pleased to have Connie with us, her infectious and exuberant personality shines through in every thing she does and reflects positively  with every one she comes in contact with.

Connie's husband John, died in 2005,  they both were blessed with a wonderful son, Thomas and his wife Sarah living in Deep River and a gorgeous daughter Laura living in Brockville. Connie is a fairly new, but a very proud grandma to Abigail

Connie enjoys all of the outdoors, traveling extensively, boating, hiking and has an extreme talent for exquisite cooking. Connie attends St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Athens.

She is always willing to assist in any way she can, not only here at work but through any of life's events in general.  Whatever functions she attends or has an interest in, she is there to help.  Thank you Connie.

Mary Carbino, Memorial Donation Administrator

Mary has been with the Scotland Funeral Home since 1997. Mary can be seen at visitations taking memorial donations on behalf of our Client Families.

Many of you would remember Mary's husband Wayne Carbino.  He and Mary ran Wayne's Service Centre here in Elgin until Wayne's death in 1996.  She was formerly  employed at the Bank of Montreal in Elgin. Mary has been a member of the Elgin United Church Choir for years.

Mary's bright and helpful attitude is a wonderful asset and is very much appreciated by all that come in contact with her. She is a great team member and goes the extra mile to please. We feel blessed to have Mary with us.

Charles has been with the firm since 1994. He assists on funerals when required at the Scotland Funeral Home. Charles was asked to join our firm with one specific reason in mind, to drive our family car. Often the need arises when a funeral home at another location is in need of extra transportation for the client families they are serving.

Charles is there to assist them in any way he can. His professional demeanor is appreciated not only by the Scotland Funeral Home, but also by all of the other local funeral homes that require his service.

Charles resides here in Elgin. Charles was married to Irma until her unfortunate and untimely death in 2011. He is actively involved in his Church, his Masonic Lodge as well a the Order of the Eastern Star. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have Charles assisting us.

Charles has now RETIRED from his duties at the funeral home, but out of respect for the work and assistance he has provided us, we feel it best to acknowledge his past presence with us by leaving his information on our website..
