Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Kingston General Hospital on Monday May 8, 2017. Trudy Mercer, in her 91st year. Widow of James Duncan. Dear mother of John (Susan) Duncan of Elgin, Bob (Lynn) Duncan of Brockville and Colleen (Martin) Oomen of Sunbury. Predeceased by sisters, Elizabeth Falshaw and Mary Vaughan. Fondly remembered by grandchildren; Julia (Shane) Lafreniere, Jennifer (Larry) Steele, Scott Duncan (Jennifer Delia), Lee Duncan, Denise Oomen and Laura Oomen (Shane McCue), and great-grandchildren; Victoria Steele (Brett Webb), Zack and Maggie Lafreniere, Jacob Steele, Hanna and Brooke Duncan, Finnegan and Thomas McCue as well as great-great-granddaughter, Anna Steele. Honorary mother of the Oomen Family and God-mother of Scott Sly. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the SCOTLAND FUNERAL HOME, 27 Main Street, Elgin on Friday from 1-3 and 6-8. Memorial Service in St. John’s Anglican Church, Leeds, 125 Sweet’s Corners Road, R.R. # 2, Lyndhurst on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. Inurnment St. John's Cemetery, Leeds at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to St. John's Cemetery, Leeds or the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (Acute Stroke Unit) would be appreciated by the family.
