Beloved Sister

    On February 26th My Best Friend and Sister passed away after a valiant battle. She lived 89 wonderful years. Barb lived with a lot of hardships in her early years.

    She quit school after grade 5 to raise her 5 younger brothers. Harold was older than Barb and was killed, with his  grandfather, in a plane accident in Seeleys Bay. He was 12 years old at the time.

    I met Barb in 1945 when she worked for my grandmother. I was 12 and Barb 17. Eventually we became sister-in -laws when I married her brother Doug. We have really been SISTERS ever since. She was my right hand - waiting table and cleaning cottages. In 1990 she got a promotion to baby sitting my grandson Kyle. She became his 2nd grandmother. They had a special bond.

        Barb was the super glue in  the family. I will miss her so much.
